John F. Friedman, RA. is actively involved in residential, condominium, vacant land, and commercial sales. John brings to his position years of real estate experience and a profound dedication to the community of Kauai. Mr. Friedman has been in residential and commercial real estate sales and leasing since leaving the construction industry. John’s computer skills have proved to be a real asset; in 2002, he began teaching the nuances of our multiple listing service databases to real estate salespeople, brokers, appraisers, attorneys and others. Mr. Friedman is active with the Kauai Board of Realtors; he is a member of both the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and Grievance Committees. John consults with a number of legal firms, providing his expertise in property research. In addition to providing advanced property research and acquisition services, he has been called as an expert witness and mediated sales contracts. As a decades-long resident of Kauai, Mr. Friedman is dedicated to improving the lives of all Hawaii’s citizens, particularly children. John has lived on Kauai for over 20 years after moving here from Kahuku on Oahu’s north shore. Mr. Friedman has three children, all graduates of Kapaa High School. He is also the proud grandfather of four, three boys and a girl. John remains active in the community as a mediator for Kauai Economic Opportunity and a member of the Hawaii State Parent Teacher Student Association (HSPTSA). From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Friedman served as President of HSPTSA and as Member of the Board of Directors of the National Parent Teacher Association (National PTA). John’s involvement within the community has given him the opportunity to work with and gain the respect of many government officials. John brings with him many special skills in leadership, communication, writing and mediation. As President of the HSPTSA, John directed events and activities of the organization as well as assisting in budget development and management. He has granted numerous television and newspaper interviews and has been quoted by major mainland and local news organizations as an authority on educational issues. John has clarified education goals, co-authored education legislation, lobbied for and against various proposed changes to educational policy and law, and has testified in the Hawaii State assembly hundreds of times. John has been named: Hawaii Child Advocate of the Year; Honorary Lifetime Member, National PTA; and received recognition for service to Kauai Economic Opportunity Mediation Program.
